What to Expect
There are a lot of questions to answer when you visit a church for the first time. We hope that answering some of these questions before you attend will not only encourage you to join us for church, but will also help you connect with the people of Southbridge and the message of hope and encouragement that God has for you.
When are the services?
Southbridge currently meets at 9:00 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. in the Brier Creek Movie Theater. During the service, we offer an excellent children's program for ages birth through 5th grade. We recommend that you arrive approximately 15 minutes before the service so you won't feel rushed--and you'll have time to enjoy our complimentary donuts and Starbucks coffee.
Church at a movie theater?
The Brier Creek Movie Theater provides a wonderful environment for our Sunday worship experience. We have a large lobby where people can talk and visit as they enjoy a cup of freshly brewed Starbucks coffee and a variety of breakfast treats together before and after the worship service. The theater is also equipped to handle our Bridge Babies and Bridge Kids ministries serving nursery through 5th grade in separate secure rooms, while the adults enjoy comfortable seating for worship. Come and see for yourself!
What can I expect on my first visit?
From the moment you walk in the door at Southbridge, you can expect to meet warm and welcoming people. If you have children, you can check them in using our secure, check-in service for our children's ministry.
As you enter the worship center, our ushers will welcome you, hand you our weekend worship guide, and direct you to your seat. During the service, you can expect to participate in authentic worship, as well as be challenged to be a committed follower of Jesus through relevant teaching of the Bible.
If you have any questions before or after the service, please visit our Connections Table by the front door.
How should I dress?
We're more concerned with seeing you experience real life change than we are with how you dress. Whether you want to wear a suit or dress casually (you'll see both at Southbridge), you'll be comfortable and welcomed.
Where do I take my children?
At Southbridge, our desire is to serve you and your children in our Bridge Babies and Bridge Kids ministry. We believe this will be the highlight of your child's week. After you enter the theater, you'll be directed to our security check-in table where we'll gather important information and instructions to best care for your child. We utilize a secure system that safely admits your child with a security sticker to the Bridge Babies and Bridge Kids ministry. We also offer pagers to parents of nursery-age and preschool-age children (and older children upon request) so that you may have peace of mind during your worship experience. (Check out the Childrens page for more information.)
What is worship like at Southbridge?
Our goal for each worship service is to create an environment that will help you connect with and experience God. We're not committed to a style of worship as much as we are committed to painting an accurate picture of Who God is so that we can reflect on who we are in relation to Him and thus respond appropriately to Him in worship. Our desire is to make much of Him, and we believe we can do that in a variety of ways. Whether it's new praise music or favorite hymns, the focus is on God, the audience of One.
